Meet the Plants
Designs change with the seasons and availability, but these are the plants we reach for most.
Peace Lily
Spathiphyllum
The graceful white blooms in many of our sympathy and thinking-of-you designs. Peace lilies like bright, indirect light and evenly moist soil. Their leaves droop dramatically when thirsty, then perk back up within hours of a good drink.
Pothos
Epipremnum aureum
A trailing green vine that softens the edges of baskets and bowls. One of the most forgiving houseplants: it tolerates lower light and prefers its soil to dry out a little between waterings.
Snake Plant
Sansevieria
Tall, sculptural leaves that add height and structure to an arrangement. Snake plants thrive on neglect: bright to low light, and water only when the soil is fully dry.
Succulents
Echeveria and friends
Compact rosettes that bring texture and calm color. Succulents want the brightest spot in the house and a deep but infrequent soak, letting the soil dry completely first.
Orchid
Phalaenopsis
The elegant centerpiece of elevated designs, with blooms that can last for months. Orchids like bright, indirect light and a small weekly watering at the roots, never letting water sit in the crown.
Dish Garden
A curated mix
Several small plants sharing one container, designed so their light and water needs match. Care for the mix by checking each plant's soil and watering the thirstiest ones first.
The Four Basics
Light
Most of our plants are happiest in bright, indirect light, a few feet back from a sunny window. Harsh midday sun can scorch leaves, while deep shade slows growth.
Water
More houseplants are lost to overwatering than to thirst. Check the soil with a finger first: if the top inch is still damp, wait a few more days. Always empty water that collects under the container.
Comfort
If a room is comfortable for you, it is usually comfortable for your plants. Keep arrangements away from heating and air conditioning vents, drafty doors, and cold windowsills.
Grooming
Snip yellowing leaves at the base, dust broad leaves with a soft cloth, and rotate the container every week or two so every side gets its share of light.
Every arrangement arrives with its own care tag, which always takes priority over general guidance. For safety notes about pets, children, and allergies, see our Plant Care & Safety page.
Send something that lasts.
